Speedy Recovery

December 30th

A Night of Accidents

December 30th

 

This morning Co. 11 was kept busy running 2 MVA's. The first crash came in at 0223 units were dispatched to the 7600 blk of Cumberland Hwy for an MVA with entrapment. Units arrived on scene to find one vehicle in a ditch with the driver still in the vehicle. Crews preformed a door pop to extricate the patient. Units cleard at 0312 from this MVA.

 

Then at 0316 Co. 11 units were alerted to 5303 Orrstown Rd for an MVA. Units arrived to find one vehicle in the middle of the road that hit a telephone pole. EMS obtained a refusal and the Engine crew took care of hazards. Units cleared at 0423.

Transfer and MVA

December 25th

 

This morning E11-2 responded with 3 on a transfer to Co. 18 while they operated on a fatal house fire in Ft. Loudon. While at Co. 18 E11-2 responded as the squad to 2211 Lincoln Way West in Hamilton Township for an MVA. E11-2 returned home from the transfer at 0937.

First Due Building Fire

December 24th

 

This morning Co. 11 along with the remainder of the box were dispatched to 8126 Oakdale Rd the Lurgan Greenhouse for a building fire. Units arrived on scene and found a working fire. It was found to be old trailers turned into storage sheds that were on fire. E11-2 arrived on scene and pulled an attack line and started knocking the fire. As more crews arrived additional lines were pulled and crews assisted with overhaul. Co. 11 units were in service at 1036.

Transfer

December 15th

 

E11-2 transferred to Station 4. No incidents were handled and E11-2 was available at 2114 hrs.

Turnpike MVA

December 7th

 

This morning E11-2 responded with 4 and ambulance 11-8 responded to the PA turnpike for an MVA. E11-2 was advised by command 51 to stage at the Blue Moutain Interchange. Engine 11-2 was in service at 0957.

Mobile Home Fire

December  5th

 

At 1111 hrs E11-2 responded on the 12-03 box at 17463 Amberson Rd for a mobile home fire. E11-2 arrived on scene and assisted with extinguishment and overhaul. Released by command 12 at 1302.

House Fire

November 30th

 

E11-2 responded to the 7-3 box 3335 White Church Rd for a house fire. E11-2 arrived on scene and the crew assisted with overhaul on division 1 before being released by command 7.

Barn Fire

November 27th

 

Tonight a single engine from Co. 11 along with the remainder of the 1-51-01 box were sent to 425 Enola Rd for a barn fire. First arriving units arrived on scene with heavy fire throughout the barn. E11-2 arrived on scene and sent manpower to assist with fire attack and overhaul. E11-2 was on scene until approx 0540 hrs.

MVA

November 26th

 

E11-2 and both ambulance from Co.11 responded to 11450 Weaver Rd for an MVA. Units arrived to find 1 vehicle off the road almost in the creek. Ambulance 11-8 transported 2 patients to the hospital.

Not Our Everyday Fire

November 3rd

 

Tonight at 1903 hrs Co. 13 was on the scene at 5010 Innovation Way for a train car fire. Co. 13 units arrived on scene with a working train cat fire. With this being an 11-13 box Co. 11 was added to the box. E11-2 arrived on scene and sent a crew to the top of the train car to try a knock the compacted grain down. Once it was determined the grain was not able to be knocked loose crews filled the car with water. Command 11 started releasing units a short time after.

Early Morning Run to Forge Hill

October  29th

 

This morning E11-2 with 4, A11-8, and CM84 responded to 12000 Blk of Forge Hill Rd for an MVA. A11-8 arrived on scene and found 1 vehicle with one patient still inside requesting the availabilty of air medical. E11-2 arrived on scene and stabilized the vehicle and assited EMS with removing the patient from the vehilce. After CM 84 arrived on scene and consulted with Chambersburg Hospital it was determined air medical was not going to be needed. E11-2 cleared at 0203.

Barn Fire

October 26th

 

Tonight Co.11 responded with E11-1 and E11-2 to 9785 Newburg Rd for a Barn Fire. Lt. Myers arrived on scene and corrected the address to 14578 Lurgan Rd and advised that it was a controlled burn. E11-2 arrived on scene first and layed 200' of supply line and pulled a handline to start extinguishing the fire. Command 51 held E11-2 until 2011 hrs.

Daylight MVA

October 25th

 

At 1046 E11-2, E13-1, and A11-8 responded to 5433 Cumberland Hwy for an MVA. E13-1 arrived on scene to find 2 vehicles involved with minor injuries. A11-8 and E11-2 arrived on scene and took care of a patient refusal and a transport to Chambersburg Hospital. Units were in service at 1112.

House Fire

October 16th

 

This morning at 0459 Engine 11-2 responded to 7674 Molly Pitcher Hwy for a house fire. E11-2 arrived on scene with 3 and was advised by command to set up accountabilty and send our extra person to manpower which ended up assiting with overhaul. Chief 11 was on scene also and had water supply. E11-2 was released by command 15 at 0641 hrs.

Wires

October 15th

 

Today Co. 11 fire police were alerted to the 7000 Blk of Cumberland Hwy assisting PSP with traffic control. Fire Police arrived on scene and found a pole with wires blocking half of the road. Later on after the power company came a cut the pole back Co. 11 units were alerted to the same location for wires down. Chief 11 arrived on scene and placed units in service.

Fire Prevention Week

October 13th and 14th

 

Members spent two days and went to the elementary schools in our first due and talked to the kids about fire prevention. The childern were given tours of the apparatus, see a firefighter in his gear, and see Sparky the fire dog.

2nd Annual PHVFC Family Fun Day

October 9th

 

Today PHVFC held it's 2nd annual family fun day to kick off fire prevention week 2011. We had an even bigger crowd then last year. PHVFC would like to thanks everyone who came out and supported this event. Also a big thank you goes out to the members and organizations that made this event happen.

2011 Lowe's Safety Day

October  8th

 

Today members loaded up in U11 and E11-1 and went to Shippensburg Lowe's for the Lowe's Safety Day. Members set up displays and gave out some handouts.

Transfer and Garage Fire

October 5th

 

Today E11-1 transferred to Co. 15 while they assisted Co. 52 with a garage fire. Just as E11-1 was pulling infront of Co. 15 we were dispatched to Cumberland County 42 Gilbert Rd assisting on the garage fire. E11-1 arrived on scene and went to the rear of the building and assisted with overhaul before being released by command 52.

October 1st

 

This evening members from PHVFC went to Co. 50 to stand-by while they were hosting a gun drawing. No calls were handled.

Morning MVA

September 30th

 

This morning E11-2 and A11-9 responded to 11466 Cumberland Hwy for an MVA. Units arrived on scene to find a 2 vehicle MVA. E11-2 assisted the EMS crew with obtaining refusals.

Stand-By

September 20th

 

Today 2 members from PHVFC traveled to Cumberland County Co. 16 to standy by while their members were at a funeral for their township fire chief. No calls were handled.

Speedy Recovery

September 22nd

 

The officers and members of PHVFC would like to wish Capt. Mike Waters a quick and speedy recovery.

3 Call Evening

September  14th

 

This evening Co. 11 was alerted for an engine transfer to Co. 15 while they worked a first due garage fire. Prior to E11-1 going responding Engine Co. 11 was alerted to Cumberland County 278 Walnut Bottom Rd for a garage fire. Engine 11-1 (Sgt. Kendall) went responding with 4 as we were coming into Shippensburg Command 52 held units on scene. Engine 11-1 just went available franklin advised us to copy another call. Engine 11-1 responded 1000 Mt. Rock Rd for an emergency flooding condititons. Engine 11-1 arrived on scene to find Mt. Rock Rd and part of Interstate 81 flooded. Units also found the giant paint can along the road leaning over. Engine 11-1's crew checked for hazards and remained on scene until the arrival of the township with barricades.

Over The Mountain

September 11th

 

At 0351 Engine 11-2 (A/C Sikes) responded with 3 to Fannett Township 21169 Cross Rd assisting on the building fire. Engine 11-2 arrived on scene and was advised by command 12 to set up a fill site. Engine 11-2 cleared at 0849.

MVA With Reported Ejection

September 11th

 

At 0249 hrs Engine 11-2 (Lt. Myers), Squad 15, Ambulance 11-8, Ambulance 273, and Medic 84 responded to 12940 Cumberland Hwy for an MVA with ejection. Ambulance 11-8 arrived on scene first to find on vehicle in the field on its roof with no ejection. Patient was self extricated prior to our arrival. EMS packaged one patient for transport to the local hospital.

2 Alarm Fire in Chambersburg

September 10th

 

Today Engine 11-2 (Sgt.Kendall) responded with 3 as part of the 2nd alarm assignment to 136 East Cathering St in the Boro of Chambersburg. Engine 11-2 arrived on scene and went to staging a short time before being placed in service by command 1.

 

Engine 11-2 then transferred to Co. 1 Mckinnley St station for a short time.

Water Rescue

September 10th

 

Tonight Co. 11 was dispatched to 12600 Mongul Rd for a water rescue. Units arrived on scene and found 2 people stranded in the water. Crews assisted the people to safe grounds before clearing at 0524.

Utility 11 Assists York County

September 8th

 

This evening Utility 11 (EMS Sgt. Swope) along with some other local departments went to York County to assist with the major flooding that area was being hit with. Utility 11 responded with 2 and the portable pumps and cleared from West York Boro at 0153 hrs.

Path Valley Parade

August  18th

 

This evening U11, E11-2, and A11-8 participated in the annual Path Valley Parade. We only brought home 1 award for best appearing ambulance this year but a good time was had by all.

MVA

August 16th

 

Today Ambulance 11-8 responded to Cumberland Hwy for an injured subject result of an MVA. Ambulance 11-8 arrived on scene and handled a patient refusal.

 

                                                                                                                      

Vehicle Fire

August 15th

 

Today Company 11 and a Single Engine from Co. 21 were alerted to Letterkenny Township the 13000 blk of Upper Strasburg Rd for a vehilce fire. Engine 21-2 arrived on scene first to find the fire already out. Units remained on scene for a short while longer.

Transfer to Co. 5

August 9th

 

E11-2 and the Sgt transferred to Co.5 (MAVFD) with 3 while they had a first due mobile home fire. Another quiet transfer with no runs. E11-2 cleared at 1219 hrs.

 

                                                                                                                      

Another Day Another Transfer

August 7th

 

Today E11-2 and the Deputy transferred to Co. 7 (FVFD) with 5 while they operated on a house fire in Mont Alto's first due. No runs were handled. E11-2 cleared at approx 1710 hrs.

 

                                                                                                                      

Transfer to Penn Township

August 6th

 

This evening E11-1 and a crew of 4 transferred to Cumberland County Co. 50 (Penn Township) for their annual firemens carnival. No calls were handled. Engine 11-1 cleared at 2300 hrs.

 

                                                                                                                      

Barn Fire

July 24th

 

Tonight Engine 11-2 responded to 1655 Coldsmith Rd as part of the working fire dispatch for the barn fire. E11-2 arrived on scene and was advised by command 7 to establish a fill site. E11-2 filled multiple tankers totaling 64,600 gallons of water.

House Fire

July 20th

 

Today E11-2 and E11-1 responded to 2105 Independance Dr in Greene Township for a house fire. E11-2 arrived and staged for a short time before being released by command 44. E11-1 was cancelled while responding.

 

Engine 11-2 then trasnferred to Station 4 handling no calls while there.

Covering The South End

July 19th

 

Today E11-1 and a crew of 4 transferred to Co. 3 for their annual firemen's carnival. While at Co. 3 E11-1 responded to Antrim Township 3270 East Weaver Rd for an MVA one overturned. E11-1 arrived on scene to find all occupants out of the vehicle. The crew checked for hazards before being placed in service by duty 3. Engine 11-1 returned to Co. 3 until approx. 2300.

 

 

 

New Addition to PHVFC

July 20th

 

The officers and members of PHVFC would like to congratulate Jen and Ken on the birth of their baby daughter Cassidy Lee. Cassidy weighed 8lbs 9oz and was 21" long. Both mom and daughter are doing fine.

Pump Primers

July 9th

 

Today E11-1 and a crew of 3 made the trip to Harrisburg to participate in Pump Primers. E11-1 started out by going through the parade from the farm show complex to the the riverside along Front St. E11-1 then set up along the river and pumped straight for a couple of hours.

 

 

                                                                                              

MVA

July 8th

 

Today Co.11 and Co.13 were alerted to 5540 Coffey Ave for an MVA. Units arrived on scene and found 1 vehicle into a pole. Chief 11 held E13-1 and A11-8. Units cleared a short time later.

 

 

 

Kitchen Fire

July 6th

 

This evening at 1851 hrs the 11-01 box was alerted to 9649 Upper Strausburg Rd for a kitchen fire. E11-2 arrived on scene with normal conditions from the exterior. After investigation it was found that the fire was already out with a light smoke condition in the kitchen. Command 11 held E11-2, E13-2, and EMS. Crews removed the stove from the house and ventialted before going in service a short time later. EMS did transport one patient to the hospital.

 

 

                                                                                              

A Day in the Boro

July 2nd

 

Engine 11-2 transferred to Co. 1 headquarters station today while Enigne 1-2 assited the Franklin's on a building fire. While at Co.1 E11-2 responded to 589 E king St for a building exsplosion. E11-2 arrived on scene right behing E1-4 and assited with the investigation. This was found to be a good intent call. Just after A/C 1 cleared E11-2 and E15-2, FC911 advised us to stand by to copy another call. Units responded to Greene Township 1414 Oakwood Ct. for a AFA. Engine 11-2 arrived first with normal conditions. Homeowners advised they burnt some food and set the fire alarm off. E11-2 investigated to confirm and Capt. 44 placed the box in service.

 

While returning from Co.1 units were alerted to the 8300 blk of Creek Rd for a Brush Fire. E11-1, E11-2, and the Brush responded on this call. 1st Lt 11 arrived on scene and found a small brush fire and held the box to the brush and engine 1.

MVA With Entrapment

July 1st

 

Tonight Engine 11-2 and Ambulance 11-8 responded to 9215 Olde Scotland Rd to assist Co. 15 with an MVA with entrapment. Engine 11-2 arrived on scene and was placed in service by command 15. Engine 11-2 then transferred to Co. 15.

Assisting Newburg With an MVA

June 27th

 

Tonight E11-2 and Ambulance 11-8 responded to 17239 Cumberland Hwy for an MVA invovling a skid loader. Units arrived on scene and requested air medical. E11-2 set up the LZ for Stat 12.

 

Flag From Over Seas

June 25th

 

Today Fire Chief Ted Reed was on station to accept a flag presented to the fire company from the 4th battalion 401st army field support brigade. This flag was flown is Kandahar Afghanistan. We would like to thank them for the donation of this flag and everything they do on a day to day basis.

 

                                                                                              

Cumberland Hwy MVA

June 19th

 

The morning started off early for Co. 11 being dispatched to 10330 Cumberland Hwy for an MVA. Engine 11-2 and Ambulance 11-8 arrived on scene and found one vehicle down a small embankment. EMS took care of a refusal and the engine secured hazards.

 

 

 

Training Night at The Hall

June 16th

 

Tonight members went to Hostetters Salvage Yard for some hands on training with our air tools and hydraulic rescue tools. Crews ran through a couple different drills.

 

 

   

 

MVA in Roxbury

June 15th

 

At 1552 hrs Co. 11 was dispatched to the 11000 block of Roxbury Rd for an MVA. E11-2 arrived and assisted with patient packaging and securing hazards. Ambulance 11-8, 11-9, and Cumberland Medic 84 were the EMS units on scene. 

 

 

Also later in the evening Co. 11 responded to 5467 Cumberland Hwy for an outside investigation. Units arrived in the area to find a control burn.

 

                                                                                              

Fluid Spill and Shed Fire

June 13th

 

Today Co. 11 started out with responding to 7674 Cumberland Hwy for a fluid spill. Units arrived on scene to find a farm tractor who was having problems with some hydraulic equipment and spilled a bunch of fluid. Crew applied absorbent before going in service at 1741 hrs.

 

The second call of the night was for a shed fire at 9762 Upper Strausburg Rd. Co. 11 units arrived on scene and had a small fire in the corner of the shed. Crews knocked the fire with a can. Command 11 held Co. 11 and Trk 53 for a short time.

Transfer and MVA

June 10th

 

The day started out with Engine 11-2 getting alerted for an engine transfer to Co. 52. No runs were handled.

 

As Engine 11-2 was on the way back to the station The Engine and Ambulance were alerted to Innovation Way and Wisconsin Ave for an MVA. Co. 13 units arrived on scene and found the driver of the vehicle in cardiac arrest. Co. 11 units arrived and assisted Co. 13 as needed.

Reported Apartment Fire

May 29th

 

Tonight while Engine 11-2 was on a transfer to the Franklins as their units worked on the scene of a first due barn fire, Engine 11-2 was alerted to the Boro of Chambersburg 409 LWW for an apartment building fire. Engine 11-2 arrived on scene and the crew advanced a line in to the building. After investigation it was found to be a small fire around a stove in the one apartment. Units assisted with some minor overhaul before going in service.

EMS On A Basement Collapse

May 26th

 

This evening as a strong line of storms just finished passing through the area an ambulance from company 11 was dispatched to assist Co. 15 on a basement collapse at 10643 Mapleton Rd. Ambulance 11-8 arrived on scene and stood by while the rescue operations were taking place.

Scotland Parade

May 7th

 

Today PHVFC participated in the annual Scotland Memorial Day Parade with E11-2, Br11, and A11-8. Crews brought home 3 first place prizes. The awards were best appearing engine, best appearing brush truck, and best appearing ambulance. Good job to all the members that made this parade a sucess.

Both Ambulances on Philadelphia Ave Mva

May 7th

 

Today both ambulances responded back to back to 5234 Philadelphia Ave for an MVA. The ambulances arrived on scene first to find 2 vehicles involved with all occupants out of the vehicle and minor injuries. Both ambulances transported patients to the local hospital.

MVA

May 5th

 

This evening Co.11 was alerted to 10735 Newburg Rd for an MVA. A/C 11 arrived on scene and found a 1 vehicle accident with all occupants out of the vehicle. The engine crew secured hazards and EMS took care of the patient. Units were in service at 1936.

Easter Egg Hunt

February 23rd

 

PHVFC had another good year at the annaul easter egg hunt. The egg hunt was held inside due to the rain but we still had a big crowd. PHVFC would like to thank everyone that came out and hope to see you back again next year.

A Very Unusual Call

February 26th

 

Tonight Engine Co. 15 and 11 were alerted to Tanyard Hill Rd for an outside investigation. Chief 11 arrived on scene and found a fire under the bridge. A propane heater caught the plastic diaper and some wood on fire under the bridge. Chief 11 established command 15. Co. 15 and 11 arrived and shut the propane down and knocked the fire down. After a short mop up units were in service at 2258 hrs.

Have Fire We Will Transfer

February 22nd

 

Tonight at 1745 hrs E11-2 transferred to Station 4. No runs were handled.

Working Job Over the Mountain

February 21st

 

Today right after clearing from the auto accident E11-2 responded on the 12-01 box 22985 Big Spring Rd for the house fire. E11-2 arrived on scene with a crew of 6 and went to work on the roof cutting vent holes. After finishing that task the crew took on the RIT group for a short time before assisting with overhaul on side A of the house. E11-2 cleared at 1723 hrs.

One On It's Side

February 21st

 

Today at 1424 hrs Engine and Ambulance Co. 11 responded to 4043 Orrstown Rd for an MVA one on its side. Duty 15 arrived on the scene and held the box to E11-2 and A11-8.

2 For the Night

February 18th

 

Tonight at 2226 hrs E11-2 responded on a transfer to Co.21. Just after backing in and the garage door going down E11-2 was alerted from Co. 21 to respond on the 11-06 box 13051 Keefer Rd for a brush fire. E11-2 arrived on scene and found that a large tree had come down on the power lines and started a small brush fire. Command 11 held Co.11, Br 52 and 18 for a short time for mop up. Units were in service at 0033 hrs.

Transfer to the Big House

February 18th

 

Today at 2015 hrs E11-1 responded on a transfer to Station 4. No runs were handled. E11-1 was available at 2105 hrs.

 

Busy Day For The Hall

February 21st

 

The first run of the day was at 1145 units were alerted to 7205 Cumberland Hwy for an MVA. Co.11 and Co. 13 units took the B post of the car to remove the patient. Units were in service at 1231 hrs.

 

The second call of the day was for an Engine Transfer to Co. 1 Heaquarters station.

 

While at Co. 1 E11-2 handled two medical locals to 200 N Main St.

 

Also while at Co. 1 E11-2 responded to 270 Lincoln Way West for a house fire. E11-2 arrived on scene as the first due engine co. The crew of E11-2 pulled the 300' line off the rear and advanced it to the rear of the house to start knocking the fire while other units could go in and rescue the trapped victims. E11-1 was added on the assingment when Chief 1 requested the second alarm. All Co.11 units were in service by 1830 hrs.

Congratulations

February 13th

Congrats to Deputy Ambulance Chief Drew Reed and Stacy Cochran on the birth of their new daughter Averie Lynn Reed. Averie was born on 2/13/11 at 2205 hrs weighing 6oz and measuring in at 20.25 inches. Everyone is doing fine.   

 

 

 

2010 ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET

February 12th

 

Tonight was PHVFC's annual awards banquet. The night started out with President Creamer with his opening remarks and introducing all our special guests for the night. Then the meal was served which was prepared and served by the Donnie and Angel Adkins and friends. President Creamer, Chief Reed, and Dep. Ambulance Chief Wadel all handed out their awards for the year of 2010. At this time Dep. Chief Rine and State Representative Kauffman handed out special awards to citizens for the assistance they provided during our blizzard earlier in the year. The awards portion was concluded with President Creamer giving his closing remarks. Then for the remainder of the evening Blazin Dragon DJ provided music.

2 For The Day

February 5th

 

Today at 1253 hrs Engine Co. 11 was alerted to fill the box in Huntingdon County Tell Township 17000 Mountain Foot Rd. Engine 11-2 went responding with 4 and was quickly placed on service by command.

 

The second run of the day was a first due box at 10776 Upper Strasburg Rd for a Chimney Fire. Engine 11-2 arrived on scene with a crew of 4 and found normal conditions inside the house. The crew from E11-2  split up and checked for extension and went to the roof. Finding no blockage in the chimney DC 11 held the box to E11-2 for a short time.

Possible Land Rescue

February 5th

 

This icy morning Co.11 was alerted along with Co.15 to the 8900 block of Rowe Run Rd for the land rescue. Units arrived on scene to find one vehicle off the side of the road. Chimney Fire

January 29th

 

This morning at 0756 a single engine from company 11 was dispatched Fannett township 16969 Hill Rd for a house fire. Co. 12 units arrived on scene and found a chimney fire. E11-2 arrived on scene and took roof operations until the arrival of tower 9. The crew from Engine 11-2 ran the chains through the chimney. Also the crew used the TIC to check for any extension. Engine 11-2 was available at 0941.

2 Alarm House Fire

January 27th

 

This morning at 0323 Engine Company 11 was dispatched as the third due engine company on the 44-02 box at 2635 Grandpoint Rd. Engine 11-2 arrived as the second due engine company and was advised by command 44 to advance a line from engine 45 to the attic area. The crew advanced the handline into the attic loft area and were met with high heat and heavy fire. The crew fron engine 11-2 along with company 7 members worked in the attic area until command 44 advised to evaucaute the structure due to the unstable conditions. Crews from Co. 11 assited with overhaul until being placed in service by command at 0614. Chief 11 had accountability sector throughout the incident and Sgt 11 had attic sector.

Also while on the fire Ambulance 11-9 handled a transfer to Headquarters fire station.

 

Then later on in the morning at 1024 the box was struck again for the re-kindle of the house fire on Grandpoint Rd. Station 4 units arrived on scene and found fire in the bedroom area of the house. Command 44 held the box to Station 4 and Company 7. Engine 11-2 was available at 1038 hrs

One On It's Side

January 26th

 

This morning at 0836 Company 11 along with medic 84 were dispatched to 8994 Upper Strasburg Rd for a MVA with reported confinement. E11-2 and A11-9 arrived on scene and found one vehicle on its side with all occupants out. EMS took care of a patient refusal. Engine 11-2 cleared the call at 0855.

January 17th

 

PHVFC would like to offer our condolences to Connie Shoemaker and James Wilson on the passing of a family member.

 

First Due Mobile Home Fire

January 16th

 

Tonight at 2059 the 11-01 box was sounded for the mobile home fire. Engine 11-2 arrived on scene and dropped a supply line back the lane and found smoke showing from a mobile home. At this time Deputy Chief 11 arrived on scene and assumed command. The crew from Engine Co.11 forced entry into the house and advanced the attack line in and knocked the bulk of the fire down within minutes. As other units started arriving on the scene crews began to preform an extensive overhaul on the front half of the trailer. Company 11 units were in service at 2245.

 

Good job by the attack group on getting a quick knock on the fire and keeping it from spreading any further in the mobile home. Thank you to all mutal aid departments for your assitance.

Our Condolences

January 11th

 

PHVFC would like to offer our condolences to The McConnellsburg Fire Company and Chief Pete Lynch and family on the passing of his father. Walter "Reed" Lynch was past Ast. Fire Chief and a lifetime member of the MVFC.

 

2 Fires and a Non-Injury MVA

January 9th

 

The first fire of the day was at 1232 when Engine Co.11 was dispatched to 6723 Edenville Cheesetown Rd for the house fire. Units arrived on scene with a fully involved house. E11-2 and E11-1 arrived on scene and their crews assited with overhaul.

While the 11 Engines were still on the fire E12-2 and U11 responded to 6788 Rowe Run Rd for the property damage accident. Units arrived on scene to find 1 vehicle into the pole. No fire department services were needed Sgt. 11 placed the box in service.

 

The third and final run for the night was another house fire this one was in Fannett Township 16340 Amberson Rd. Co.11 arrived on scene and assisted Co.12. All Co.11 units were in service at 2259.

Chimney Fire

January 5th

 

This morning at 0750 Engine Co. 11 responded to the 15-5 box 8719 Rowe Run Rd. Engine Co.11 arrived on scene and checked division 2 for any extension then crews assisted with opening the chimney up and clearing the pipe. Command 15 placed the box in service at 0823.
